Following a premature departure from the study of philosophy and psychology at the university of West Australia, in the mid 1970’s I moved to the outback of southwest Australia. I built a rick wheel, constructed a wood fired kiln, and began my career as a potter. Inspired by the standards of Sung Dynasty, Chinese stoneware and porcelain pottery, I developed an understanding of process and material, in a medium I’d become familiar with as a child.
